DMC3SE: Normal text missing from menus + Game crashes when text promps are supposed to appear.

As the title says. I don't really care about the text from menus being gone because I know what I'm doing with the game.
However, attempting to check any part of the game that uses a text prompt or a description immediately crashes the game. Furthermore, this also makes it impossible to finish mission 5, as a text prompt appears when you use the Vajura on the lever slot.

EDIT: After disabling "Skip Intro" and "Skip Cutscenes" the problem was fixed. I'm turning them back on and keep playing, will edit again if crashes return...

EDIT2: Yep, they returned. Sigh.

EDIT3: Figured out that the problem is the Skip Cutscenes setting when it's on.
