DMC 3 actor module issue

When enabling the actor module (which let's be honest, is the reason we love this mod), some enemies in mission 18 have missing attack textures/effects. Some examples include: king chess piece area explosion pillar, Cerberus' falling ice shards, Beowulf's light explosions and Nevan's shadow based attacks (like the spin, spikes or the pool of shadow when she's vulnerable). The regular versions of the bosses in their respective missions have the effects displaying, but the mission 18 ones play the animations without the visual effects/textures.
I removed all texture mods and had a fresh install, this is 100% an issue regarding the actor module from DDMK.

Same issue seems to happen in Bloody Palace as well.

I've also documented this, but I found it's related to problems during the game's startup. Not saying to close this issue; please keep it up. Just something I'd like to say

I've found a workaround, or at least it worked for me. I used to have an old version of DDMK for DMC 3 (0.998), I've installed that one again, I reset all settings to default, played mission 18 (preferred local files ticked), the bug was gone, then I saved, reinstalled the newest version of DDMK (2.7.3), still with preferred local files ticked and played mission 18 and it seems that all issues were gone. There might have been some residual settings left over from the old version that messed with the save file, I have no idea, but the issue seems to be fixed for now.
As a side note, I still play with the HD texture mod https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/dmc3hdtexturepack/devil-may-cry-3-hd-collection-hd-texture-pack-rele-t5.html?sid=8d78835d0fce1063e9586d8bb8d7be97/ , so it might be worth checking if there are any compatibility issues in case anybody else wants to try it.
