[DMC4SE] Character Switcher not working with Dualshock 4 on Steam Input

when using the DS4 on its own the character switcher seems to work fine but if im using an input wrapper like steam input or DS4 Windows (because the Dpad doesnt work when using the controller without it) you cant control the character after switching to them

EDIT: It doesnt seem to work on my xbox series X controller either

Try disabling Steam Input, it's quite bugged lately after what's happening in Okami HD.
