Order of arguments to \marginpar swapped?

The marginfix package inverts the behaviour of the optional and required arguments for \marginpar causing the intended right-margin notes to appear on the left and vice versa in two-sided documents. This seems like it should have an easy fix (one could patch the \marginpar command after to swap the arguments) but I don't see immediately where this should be done in the marginfix code.
