extension not being enabled by gnome 46

EDIT: after a couple restarts, it now works. Thanks for the work you put into this, i cant use gnome without this extension

I just updated to fedora 40, and since the original extension is not working i installed this using the commands provided by the readme file. However, the "enable" command returns "Extension “gestureImprovements@gestures” does not exist",
the gestures dont work, and going in the "Extension manager" app it says "GLib.FileError: Failed to open file “/home/marci/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/gestureImprovements@gestures/schemas/gschemas.compiled”: open() failed: No such file or directory".
I already tried to install the extension manually, by copy and pasting the files in the directory, but it says the same thing.
