Version numbers are not being updated with new version

Seems that after 3.4.0, version numbers are not being updated with new releases. Can we make it a requirement to update the version number if a new release is created?

We can certainly "require" it, but if I just forget to do it I'm sorry. I'll try to be better about that. I was careful to update it to 3.7.0 in todays release.
