Charis Compact vs. Charis

How is this font family "compact"? The fonts seem to be identical to the non-compact ones.

For applications that determine line leading (i.e. vertical line spacing) from the font, Charis Compact should have tighter line spacing than Charis. (Some apps ignore line spacing defined in the font so ymmv.)
