Make spire step messages clearer

Some of the messages that spire prints during the steps of the autoinstall process are reasonable, but some look like this:

      -- <command.Operations object at 0x7f1f29c91940> --

Or like this:

          -- <function Simple.operate.<locals>.<lambda> at 0x7f1f29cad7b8> --

It would be nice to have something human-readable, here.
