Missing viridis-scales.png file when running devtools::check()

Error message when running devtools::check():
LaTeX errors found: ! Package pdftex.def Error: File 'viridis-scales.png' not found.

@noamross I just saw that you mentioned this issue in r-lib/devtools#1007 and that Hadley thinks it's a problem with R CMD check. Did you find a solution since then? I'd like to submit the last version to CRAN as soon as it can pass the check.
Sorry I've been slow about this. I haven't found a solution, but I should
be able to get to it tomorrow. I'll try building using the R docker
images, and write r-pkg-devel if I can't get it to work.

@noamross No problem. I guess we can always ditch the figures from the documentation if there is no easy solution, but it would be a shame.
