Right now I need to use JS for this library to work.
Would it be possible to use only AS3 so I could also run this on Android/iOS?

Hi Rob!
There doesn't seem to be a native WebSocket implementation that we could use for Socket.io for Pomelo. I will work on this in the future, but not for a while, I'm sorry. If you want to start on that, I could contribute.
