Link build environment terms to their definitions

The definitions in this section are just italicized. Elsewhere, they are links pointing to the definitions section. I think that the latter is better for consistency as well as calling out the common terms defined.

I found myself scrolling down to the definitions a lot when parsing the previous section. Is there a better way that the information can be organized or is this just the cost of describing the problem space?
