Joypad configuration unresponsive

In the input configuration section why only Joypad N°1 works while the others, after being correctly mapped and enabled, don't?

What platform and version are you using?
I'd guess you have not configured the correct input device connected to the console. For example select "Input->Use super multitap" for more than two joypads.
