(Firefox) Playback problems when watching a playlist/autoplay
Closed this issue · 2 comments
Appears to be related to the awful new Youtube UI which got rolled out to me about a week ago, as that is when the issue started occurring (& disabling this addon fixes these issues for me)
When watching any Youtube playlist (or just with auto-play enabled), the first video loads correctly - but when the video reaches the end and the player redirects to the next video on the list automatically, only the player & playlist components remain loaded, everything else vanishes:
This is only a minor concern as there is a simple workaround - refreshing the page reloads it all correctly & allows you to read the comments, etc.
The main problem is that when a video in this state reaches the end, it does not automatically move on to the next video in the playlist - playback just stops. (Essentially, it means that I'm only able to watch two videos in a row automatically before having to manually intervene - or just disable this addon when watching a playlist)
Looks similar to the effect of #119 - I tried the uBlock filter suggested in the comments of that issue, and while it was still able to affect the layout of the page, it did not fix this problem with playlists/autoplay.
Seems to have resolved itself - perhaps the fix I applied in previous comment actually did work, just not immediately. Tenatively closing this issue for now, I guess
