Image hovercard overlay not working with image

The overlay in the image hover card element doesn't work when you add an image as background. In BD Builder it looks like it's working but when you look at the page the overlay doesn't show making text unreadable in most cases.
It does work as expected without image. To reproduce:
- Add an image hovercard
- Add an image to the hovercard
- In the builder the hover effect with overlay looks good (default purple / blue gradient)
- Save the page
- Look at the saved page and you'll see that the overlay doesn't show.
You should also include the following information:
- Breakdance version v1.6.1
- Browser & OS: MacOS (latest)

It appears that it only happend in combination with imagify (webp plugin) if the option with image tags was used. Using rewrite rules works fine. Case closed.
