Treeview selected item always has a dark gray foreground regardless of its git status

Steps to reproduce:

1. Add a git repo to the tree view
2. Change a file or add an untracked file
3. Observe that while the file is open, the corresponding selected item in the tree view is dark gray and not green or yellow.
