Kill-Cursor

Opened this issue · 3 comments

Hey there,
I would like to request a feature, being the kill-cursor known from xkill. Currently it's impossible to know, if the command succeded if you have it set to a key-combination, because the cursor just stays the same.
I would love this to be more obvious. It could also just be a red warning on the top of the screen saying that wf-kill is active.
Thanks!

I don't understand what you mean. When you run wf-kill, the cursor should turn into a crosshair and when you click, the cursor should turn back to default pointer. Is this not happening?

That should in fact happen, and I found the issue: I am using the auto-cursor-hide plugin, which apparently resets the cursor from the crosshair to the default. Can you fix that, or will I just have to deal with it?

I can reproduce this with hide cursor plugin. It seems the problem can't be fixed in the hide cursor plugin but needs more work in wayfire core for cursor hide/unhide, to set the cursor to whatever it was before hiding. Though, the cursor could have been changed by some other plugin while it was hidden, so I'm not too sure what the real solution might be here. Unfortunately, for now, you'll have to deal with it. I will leave this issue open until we can find a solution.
