Dangan GB v1.1 fails to boot

The Dangan GB v1.1 ROM (from Itch.io, SHA-1 checksum 10029774046dabec2d8c0533caf94091f6e19071) boots to an "ERROR." message on v1.3.0 of the core (firmware v1.1-beta-6).
The previous version (v1.0, 8375d845fcfe4c236cd68f3d56a290f8c7b76c06), on the other hand, works fine. Both versions work on an emulator (OpenEmu v2.3.3/Gambatte 0.5.0.689 core).
