World Series Baseball, World Series Baseball '95 do not run

Both World Series Baseball (1.0, 1.1) and World Series Baseball '95 for Game Gear load to a black screen.
I've attempted to use ROMs from multiple sources, including the GoodRom set.
Original cartridge runs without issue via adapter on Analogue Pocket, for what it's worth.
These games are distinctive because they use EEPROM for saving/loading and will not run if it is not present, so any emulator must have specific support for this EEPROM.

Is there a list of GG games with EEPROM saving? I just logged a similar issue with Archer Maclean's Dropzone, so it would make sense if that game used EEPROM too.
The Game Gear baseball games on this list use EEPROM, Dropzone does not work because it requires simulation of Codemasters' mapper.
