stylistically curved arcs at high detail

Arcs in high detail areas (within smaller countries) appear essentially as straight lines. Would be great to be able to curve these stylistically.

I think Matt's looking for something that either exaggerates or fabricates great arcs for purely style reasons. I think it'd be pretty doable to implement - I'll take a swipe at it.
