jGrowl and jQuery-ui Dialog compatibility issues

I am using jGrowl and jQuery ui dialog one the same page in one of my projects. The jGrowl notifications become visible when a link is clicked, the same applies for the dialog. I have noticed that after the page loads, if I open the dialog first, the jGrowl notifications don't work. I get a: TypeError: $.jGrowl is undefined.
If I click so that the jGrowl notifications appear first, then both the dialogs and notifications work fine. Do you have any idea why this is happening?
I also have the same issues when I use the qtip2 jquery plugin.
