Markdown: Fix decoding of embedded inline HTML

In https://hub.stenci.la/elife/article-61523/snapshots/5 we noticed that Superscript nodes are not getting rendered to HTML properly:

Turns out that this was not a problem with the html codec but rather with the md codec that was converting embedded inline HTML into an array of nodes (which were then not getting translated to HTML properly). Changed title accordingly.
