Remove notification sound

Are there an way to remove the notification sound of the received messages? I've removed from Notifications system preferences, but the sounds still happens.

But this will remove sound of my contact in whatsapp, what I want is only remove sound of Notification Center from Mac.

Oh, I'm sorry. My phone is perpetually in silent mode, so I didn't notice that it was a service-wide setting.
