Close/minimize/maximize buttons missing after exiting fullscreen

I'm running 10.11 release, and updated to ChitChat 1.4.

When I make the app fullscreen, everything works as expected, but when I go back to windowed mode the three buttons are missing. The app still works fine, though, and I can achieve their functionality through keyboard shortcuts.
