After stopping recording, the video file continues to expand with duplicates of the last recorded frame

I made a 10 second test recording. After I pressed stop in Wayfarer, it kept using CPU and the video kept getting longer (over a minute), but it was no longer moving, i.e. the last frame was being duplicated.
