Hi I'm using google domains and when it does not work when I add the "github.io" with the repository name as the path? I know I can specify path with a DNS record but I am confused on how you did it? Also this may just be because the CNAME only refers to Version 1.2 and this is Version 2.1. Any answers would be greatly appreciated!
Ok I'm going to fix the issue but also suggest you put this in the README. For custom domains you need two apex records pointing towards github. https://help.github.com/articles/troubleshooting-custom-domains/ This where you will find the ip addresses.
Also you will need to remove the repo name and .github.io from the url and baseurl in the _config.yml. Use your custom domain name instead.
