Make tests work again

Since we've ported this from an existing project and have done minor changes. This task is related to make tests work again as expected.

There is an urgent need to use this repository to serve as a boilerplate takehome challenge for recruiting purposes. In that sense, no refactoring and/or improvements will be made.

Hint: Use make to interface it as it is commonly expected.
