Porting plugin to lite-xl

Although this plugin originally came out from discussions in lite-xl, I realized that there still exist many incompatibilities in lite-xl and lite (especially "hacks" that this plugin uses)

While I might be able to port this plugin to lite-xl, I don't use it as my daily driver so many bugs can go unnoticed.

I would appreciate help to improve this plugin.
