Do you already have a solution if so please tell me ? I have the same problem.

Might be a USB communication problem. Unfortunately, the only way I can get my transaction to go through with any EOS wallet using my nano s is to temporarily turn off my vpn, anti-virus and firewall on my laptop. Reboot laptop. Then try transaction again. So far, it works! Rediculous!

Mind-zipper , I can connect the ledger directly to scatter (a new account) put in the public key from the fairy wallet and then connect with the ledger to this scatter account. Private key is in ledger. Would that be possible or give a conflict ?

EJ - I feel for you because I have a lot of EOS also and I was panicked about 2 days ago when I could not undelegate.
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Macs and I did not have much luck with Scatter. If you have access to a Windows10 PC, I might be able to walk you through using either Bloks.io, Fairy, or EOS Authority. With these wallets, I saw my ledger EOS account easily. I did not have to purchase any accounts. And once, I turned off my firewall, everything worked flawlessly.
Even if you cannot transact, do you at least see your EOS account when you use the fairy wallet? If you do, then the ledger is at least releasing the private key. This would tell me that it is a communication/firewall hardware problem when you try to confirm a transaction.
Here are some other suggestions to try on your Mac.

  1. Make sure your ledger has the latest firmware loaded. Get it from Ledger Live.
  2. Uninstall your EOS ledger app and then re-install. This makes sure you have the latest EOS app on your ledger.
  3. Make sure you have the latest Fairy Wallet loaded on your Mac. (Version 0.10.0 from https://github.com/tarassh/fairy-wallet)
  4. In the fairy wallet, you can operate as "owner" or "active" if you have set this up in the past. See pic. If you have this option, try to undelegate as "active". If this does not work, try "owner".

Thanks a lot for your explanation.

  • I can open my Fairy wallet with my Ledger and see my balances.
  • The CPU is 0 and the Net is also 0
  • I have the delegate and undelegate buttons in the wallet and tried to put 1 EOS and 1 EOS CPU but transfer failed. It said;
"Billed CPU Time (412Us) Is Greater Than The maximum Billable CPU Time For The Transaction (83Us)"
  • When I tried a transfer out of the wallet it also failed. It said; "transaction Net Usage Is Too High: 136>0"
  • I updated everything as you said and put off my mac firewall
  • I tried all kind of transfers changing owner to active
  • I can see the public key on the ledger

I opened a Scatter account and you can add an account. Where you can add your own public key. Then it says private key input or import from ledger. Would this give a conflict ? Did you try this ?

Ok. I think we are getting close now.
I believe this is more of an eos account setup issue than a fairy wallet versus scatter issue.
I had this "billed cpu time" error also. The fix was to, FIRST, increase my RAM. But you may also need to "delegate" some small cpu and net amount in order to ever move your eos from your ledger account. EOS uses "net, cpu and ram" as fees to move coins...similar to Ethereum using gas.
I believe you need at least 0.5 eos worth of ram. 0.5 eos of cpu and 0.5 eos of net.... that's my understanding.
In fairy, go to left side of the wallet and click "RAM". Look at upper right corner. You need about 10.00kB of ram available. If you do not, then add ram.
To add RAM, put your EOS account name as Recipient...(reference upper left corner for your acct name)
Then, put about 0.5 as Value(eos). Then, click blue "Buy RAM" button at bottom. (I noticed in fairy that this button might say "But Ram"....sloppy programming) but this IS the right button.
Make sure firewall. etc.is off. Confirm the transaction on ledger. This should give you enough ram to then delegate a little to cpu and net.
Click on Delegate. Again enter your account as Recipient and put about 0.5 eos into cpu and 0.5 into net.
Click blue "Delegate" button at bottom
Confirm transaction on ledger.
I believe you can click on transaction ID to see transaction complete.
Anyway, once you have some eos delegated to net and cpu, you should be able to now move your available eos amount to another wallet.
Fingers crossed.

How much ram do you have?
If you send me your account name, I will delegate some cpu and net into your account.

Same fails as before.

Is it possible to sent CPU and Net from outside the wallet directly into my wallet account ? Delegation still does not work.

When I delegated eos to your account cpu and net, I thought this would show up in your cpu and net and allow you to transact. But I guess that is not the case. I see in your account that there is 1.0 eos "staked by others" (me) but it does not seem to help you transact. I don't really understand this.
I REALLY DO NOT like Windows, but (based on how much eos you have locked in this account) I would go buy/borrow a cheap Windows10 pc and try your ledger on Windows. Might cost $150 US for a new one.
I am now thinking again that it is a USB port communication issue between ledger and Mac.
Another suggestion is to try using your ledger with an android phone. Here is a wallet that works with android and ledger.

I can't think of anything else to try unfortunately.

I went to the ledger support page below. Down on lower left side of this page are instructions for connection issues for Mac.. Maybe try these fixes.

https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005165269-Fix-connection-issues

Thanks again for all suggestions. I think I gonna try it on a windows computer if that doesn't work the only option I guess is with the Iancolemanbip39.io tool you can extract your EOS keys from ledger.

Ok, problem solved. It says you have to stake at least 0.5 EOS to CPU and 0.5 EOS to NET. That is wrong, you have to stake at least 10 EOS to CPU. After I did that the transactions were accepted.

Good to know. Thanks!

MZ - you went out of your way with Strayceem and he go it solved! I have the same error that started this thread and I have the benefit of the entire dialog but I can't seem to get Fairy to take any stake at all- if you have a suggestion - I'd love to hear it...

Can anyone tell if this site is a ghosted now?
