Use Defensio 2.0

Looks like Defensio has updated their API: http://defensio.com/api
The problem seems to be that the old version is no longer working as expected, we had a lot of spam not being caught on our sites, so my guess is that upgrading to 2.0 will fix that (hopefully). Anyways upgrading is a must as support for 1.x will be dropped eventually.
Not sure if you're still maintaining this plugin. Maybe you have an alternative to work with instead?
I quit using Defensio and started using Typepad Anti-Spam. But, I also don't work there anymore. You're more than welcome to take charge if you like. I can make your fork the 'master', or you can just get collab rights to mine. Or you can be 'that way' and just start a new project :)
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into the available options more and then decide which route to go (but definitely not starting a new project).
Typepad looks good (I especially like the "free" part), but I wonder if they're eventually going to charge for it, that's not entirely clear from their homepage.
I'm curious what Ruby library you're using with Typepad? As it seems to be 100% compatible with Akismet, can we just use the current Viking implementation for that and only change the endpoint? If that's the case then I guess I could easily extend Viking by creating a new Typepad < Akismet
class.
I think we're just using the Akismet one and changing the endpoint URI.
Hey,
I thought about this a bit.
1.) If you don't mind I'd like to have commit rights to the repo so I can push the new Typepad class.
2.) It would be great if we can then push a new version of the gem (because we want to use that instead of the plugin version in Shopify).
3.) Why is the gem not called just "viking", but "vikinggem" instead?
4.) I think we can bump the version to 1.0, this has been stable in production for us for 2 years now. What do you think?
Cheers, Dennis
I don't know, this crap is so old. Do what you like to it :) It's pre-gemcutter, so it should be added to that too.
