It would be cool if there was something like a trending section. Trending communities could be the communities that have increased activity in the last x days. Or something like that.

I have added hot_rank property of communtiies to the tracked attributes, so I can see the change over time.

This should let me make a "order" option that is like "Trending Communities", factoring in:"

  • user/post/comment growth over 7 days
  • hot rank change over past week
  • instance "trust" rating, ie. instances not defederated will appear higher.
