Can't get AnimLayers to do anything

Hi, thanks for making this!
I can't get the plugin to animate anything using Krita 4.2.6 (from an AppImage on Kubuntu 18.04)?
The plugin is installed and active.
Clicking the buttons in the docker does nothing?
