As far as I am aware, Thunder is only hosted here on Github. Github is prorprietary, and owned by Microsoft. One can draw a myriad of possible negative conclusions from this fact.
Describe the solution you'd like
It would be nice if Thunder was also mirrored to more open git hosting services. Codeberg is a very good contender, in my opinion -- plus, supposdely, they are working on implementing federation in the future.
Describe alternatives you've considered
There are other open git hosting services, but I personally feel that Codeberg/Forgejo is the current best alternative.
