Exception: Unable to load new replies

Bug Description

When tapping Load More Replies the above exception is thrown.

Expected Behaviour

Replies loaded, or if this is a server version conflict, the ability to toggle this feature.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Load post
  2. Tap button

Hey @Fmstrat would you be able to provide the specific comment chain that triggered this error for you? This is something that the Lemmy backend has always given us issues with (even their own web UI occasionally has trouble loading deferred comments).

Sure, it happens on any comments that extend.

Annnnnd as I go to pull a link it happens in Lemmy UI, too. So this probably isn't a Thunder thing.

Even though it happens on every thread, it would be still be super helpful to have an example link, as it's not always easy to find a thread like that! 😆😆

And yeah, if it happens on the web UI, it may not be our bug, but even so it might help our underestanding of how things work if we can look at what causes the issue.

For example, last time, we knew it was caused because Lemmy wouldn't return threads where there was a deleted comment with children, even if the children weren't deleted, but they fixed that.

This may still be a thunder issue, too. This URL doesn't display load more on web, but does on Thunder. Will test more.
