I got it working for Angular 15 in this PR #248, but I need help fixing the tests (not sure why they are refusing to run).

Although maybe instead of using legacy Material, the PR should support the new styles? 🤔

Unfortunately i want the hex form! so breaks our UI doing this : (. Assuming this project/component is now dead.
