Correctly parse ticks and crosses as preferences

Closed this issue · 1 comments

Some preferences in the raw formal preferences data are recorded as * or /. According to the AEC, these represent crosses and ticks respectively:

In answer to your question, the * represents a cross and the / represents a tick. There are savings provisions in the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 that allow a cross or a tick to be interpreted as a 1.

This should be properly accounted for.
