Git status - issues with fish as default shell while using Allacrity

When I use fish as the default shell on Allacrity terminal emulator, I am not able to use ctrl-g for git status search unless I manually open another fish inside fish. This behaviour is better described on the gif below:

It does work fine however when I use bash as the default shell or when I use another terminal emulator (tested with Apple's Terminal)
