Details
-
Project Name: The Amanuensis
-
Expected behavior
in a track set up to play samples, there is aumenu
that displays the current sample (either just played or selected). This should change corresponding to the sample heard from each incoming note. -
Actual behavior
Thisumenu
is not changing either when notes come in or even when you manually select a different sample using the menu itself. -
How to reproduce
Start up The Amanuensis and make sure you have a drum samples folder chosen (in "settings"). Using the menu, set a track to record and play "samples" and play some MIDI through that track (if you don't have any other MIDI controller, you can always use the keyboard letter keys, in the formation of a piano, exactly like in Ableton Live if you're familiar). You should now be able to observe the aberrant behavior.

- Recording Of The Bug
This video demonstrates exactly what I've described. [Forgive the use of voice recognition; my hands are useless stumps at the moment, but I'll spare you that sob story]

Components
The umenu
in question is located in sound.maxpat. It remains to be seen where else from there the issue may lead.
Deadline
There is no deadline, but we can discuss how long it might take to execute.
