Exporting of an object other than a cube (for example a cylinder) doesn't work

Hi there,
I have been testing around a bit with blender, followed your instructions and videos on how to do it and came to the conclusion
that creating a simple cube mesh always works, but whenever i try to create another object, like a cylinder, it complains about that the "cylinder is no tri or quad".
But when i try to convert the cylinder to triangles ("Triangulate faces with Strg+T in blender"), which works, it exports
it without complaining, but eventually in the DCS ModelViewer it doesn't show anything and just says "can't load FILE".
I am a beginner in blender and modelling in general, so i wanted to ask is there a reason for that behaviour or any workaround?
Or did i just miss something?
(PS. just as a side note to reproduce, i created an armature and a mesh, added the armature as bone relative parent for the mesh, set a random material, set the option "RenderNode" in the EDM panel, and then exported it)
After trying everything it was simply due to the newest EdmModelViewer2, which somehow didn't like it.
After installing an older version ("edModelViewer2-2.8.0.31178.exe") it worked.
Sorry to bother with such a simple question
