Deprecation of GoogleApps: please try WebApps instead

I haven't worked on this app in a long time, which means it will be quite difficult for me just to get it to compile under the Play Store's new requirements. It is not trivial to update it.

So I am thinking of deprecating this app and instead recommending users to try using WebApps v4.0 or above, which now makes it easier to login to Google web apps. It is kept up to date and has much better features like support for logging in with multiple accounts, creating shortcuts to desktop, having multiple apps open at the same time, sharing to it, having your own list of apps instead of in-built ones, etc.

Since I no longer use Google products, I can't test it to see if there are problems with using WebApps for Google websites. Could users of GoogleApps please test WebApps and post back here with feedback on whether it works better or not? Thanks!

The problem with WebApps as far as I'm concerned is that you cannot open links with it. So if someone sends you an URL for, let's say, Drive, we won't have access to the content.

u mean compiling with android studio right? ahhhhhh.... yes, i agree that google android studio is like a pain. similar issue i found some time ago: tfg13/LanXchange#16 (comment)

@yashpalgoyal1304 yes exactly that!

The only thing different which I wish it had is the lack of an entry in "app links" in which it could be set to "open google.com and related links". Would that be "trivial", perhaps simply by editing and recompiling the apk? BTW I tried to post this while logged into WebApps and was unable to; doing so now from the desktop. Maybe some unidentified 3rd party domains are being blocked?

This app (fdroid build) still works fine for me, and is one of my gotos when i need google in a browser. I'm having no end of trouble with WebApps, often forgetting my logins.
