Does not work in mac OS Monterey

When hitting the play/ pause button the music app starts on.

I can confirm I have the same behavior.

Hi @brodsky1992 @dbjungle

Would you mind trying the instructions posted here #20 (comment).

Also, make sure you're on the latest version of the app as the certificate expired on the older ones.

Cheers,
Tom :)

Hi @tombonez

I have the version created on January 3, 2022 installed. It is showing as running in Activity Monitor. I do not have a ~/Library/Preferences/digital.twisted.noTunes.plist file.

I installed noTunes maybe 5 days ago and it was working perfectly, but I upgraded to macOS 12.2 yesterday. I noticed this morning that Apple Music launched when I pressed the play key.

Thanks for the info @dbjungle

Would you mind running the following in Terminal and letting me know what's returned:
osascript -e 'id of app "Music"'

Cheers,
Tom :)

@tombonez

dbjungle@ddb-air ~ % osascript -e 'id of app "Music"'

Hi,
a suggestion that might help some of the people looking at this:

After upgrading to Monterey I thought I had the same problem. In reality I found out that I was simply confused because I didn't restart my machine for a long time. The real issue was that noTunes doesn't restart after reboot.

If the above is your problem, I created this issue which also includes a workaround: #22

Any workarounds for this? I'm also and Monterey and this does not seem to work anymore.
Rebooted/restarted the app.

I'm on Monterey. I installed it the first time and it works. I love it!

Does not work on Ventura.

Inconsistent on Ventura here. Working about 2/3 of the time.

If I enable replacement mode it opens the replacement every time but only succeeds in blocking Music 2/3 of the time.

Works for me on Monterey 12.6.1

Music opens on 12.6.1 when CD is inserted after periods of inactivity, w/noTunes running. Is there a log I can look at that would shine some light on this behaviour?
