With the TTF irc channel growing, a bot will help auto-moderate the channel with things such as kicking if a non-FF word is in a person's nickname, a way to voice people when they join if their ip is whitelisted, and an news command that changes only the "news" part of the topic
Instead of building a full irc bot I recommend willie python irc bot but that is completely up to collaborators.
