    This project belongs to detect any alcoholic driver for avoiding unnecessary accidents. To do this we built a system using MQ-5 gas sensor which can detect alcohol gas and glow a green signal at the back of its led. We are assuming a motor as a vehicle. Now if it sense any alcohol gas then this will be displayed on the LCD display and system will block the motor. That means if any driver gets alcoholic, this system will detect that.

    Project Motivation/ Description: India holds the world record in the number of road accidents annually, according to the ministry’s data, 12,256 road accidents occurred in 2019 which were related to drunk driving, against 12,000 such cases reported in 2018. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data also shows that around 2% of the total road accidents that happen in India are due to drunk driving. In 2019 alone, around 3,000 people lost their lives in road accidents that were related to drunk driving, while 6,675 people were left injured in such drunk driving-related road accidents. With my project, “Alcohol detection System”, I intend on preventing these accidents. This project also provided the much-required exposure and experience required by working with microcontrollers, as well by coding and understanding the working of such systems.
