This is an example app showing how to integrate CanCan authorization with ActiveAdmin. See the spec directory for tests and an example.
The really tricky part of this app was the ActiveAdmin block for load_and_authorize_resource instead of controller.authorize_resource in app/admin/companies.
In this example app, the authorization (AuthZ) rules are like this:
- Users are allowed to manage (CRUD) Companies they belong to (user.company_id FK and association). - Superadmins can edit all companies. - Other people can only read (view) companies in ActiveAdmin.
Use DB seeds (rake db:seed) to test ActiveAdmin outside of rspec tests.
