Experiment with timeline thumbnails

I like the current minimal timeline but also feel that the nodes could use some character. Therefore experiment with thumbnails using /t/oysters. Couple of technical options:
- One-the-fly image manipulation
- Serve preprocessed images
Former is clearly the better option but requires some effort to get started. For experimental purpose, the latter will suffice.

Not ideal, but this was implemented a while ago.
