No audio on iPhone 3G 4.2.1

Opened this issue · 5 comments

Hi:

I just downloaded AirFloat on iPhone 3G 4.2.1. It starts fine and the device appears in the other IOS devices as a valid AirPlay receiver, but when I select the iPhone 3G as the destination for AirPlay, there is no sound transferred. I can see the song details including the cover art on the receiving device but no sound. Is 4.2.1 a supported IOS version?

Thanks for your help!

Regards,

Ashish

Can anybody confirm that airplay is working with iOS 4.2.1 and iphone 3G?

I could not get it to work on that exact platform. I gave up and bought an Airport Express...

Hi. I know there are issues with iOS 4.2.1. I have been very inactive with this project lately - and as such has not found time to look into 4.2.1 or iOS 8 support as well. I am thinking of spending som time with the app soon. I might make it a pay-app in Cydia - not much - but just to keep some cashflow in order to still be able to maintain it.

But you cannot believe how much I appreciate the support I still get from this app. You guys truly keep my faith in this project. :)

I just pulled out my old 3Gs in order to test it. It currently runs iOS 6, and because I do not have the SHSH blobs for 4.2.1 I am not able to downgrade. Been looking at eBay for 4.2.1 3Gs devices on sale, and they are pretty modest in price - so maybe I'll pick one of those up, and see what I can do. I've had a lot of requests on this.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm trying to get this working my old 3G running 4.2.1. Airfloat 1.3 crashes immediately, but I'm able to successfully stream using airfloat 1.2. The problem is I'm getting stuttering and latency problems. I've tried removing launch deamons to free up ram, but I'm still getting the stuttering. I'll update if I get this working.
