Loading sounds reproducably fails for some sounds

On a Samsung Galaxy S some of the sounds do not play. When the app is restarted the same or different sounds do not play. There are no visible error messages.

This is probably a memory issue. On Android, if there is low memory, the sounds get unloaded by the OS. Do you know how much memory is available on this device?
