Format of csv files. Dummy-coded?

Hi Tristram,
I am a bit confused about the format of the csv files. In the description in the tutorial and the manuscript, the csv files are dummy coded.
e.g., The predictor (independent) variables and covariates of no interest are dummy coded as separate files.
Does that mean only categorical variables such as sex, sites are dummy coded?
In the following step, covariates_std_dm.csv (unit variance and demean covariates file) is generated and used (mediation analysis). When I looked at this file, it sees all the variables are normalized including the dummy coded one, which I am not quite sure about. My understanding is I need to use the normalized continuous variables + dummy coded categorical variables as the covariates.
