How to use the extension with out-of-tree boards ?

I'm trying to use this awesome extension with my project which is based on Zephyr, but unfortunately I couldn't find a way to make it work with my custom boards which are out-of-tree boards.

Hey, this isn't properly supported at the moment. The extension uses West to look for boards, and will only find boards in registered West modules.

I'll add a board_roots setting to the extension and pass that to west.
