Secure Connection Failed

Howdy!
trying to get this up and running on Centos7 and it seems to start just fine both by running node server.js and docker-compose up (no errors in console)
However if i try to browse the URL https://myURL.dev:8181 as well as just browsing https://myURL.dev (i know .dev TLDs need to be run over HTTPS and I think I have that setup appropriately..) I get a secure connection failed. I get the same message if I use my normal domain that has a TLD of .us

any help would be greatly appreciated..
