Prepare for Public Release on Twilio Labs

cweems opened this issue · 0 comments

If the request is approved, as the requestor, prepare the code and release:

  • Remove any source code comments that contain personal information, proprietary Twilio information, or information that would reflect negatively on Twilio.
  • Apply suitable license notices to the code (including a LICENSE file, and if applicable, source file headers for dependencies).
  • Place our copyright notice (Copyright Twilio Inc.) in the first line of the main program file for the project and in the LICENSE file.

Include a CONTRIBUTING.md file that explains how contributions from others will be accepted to your project. If you choose to accept contributions under the same license that your project is being released under (preferred), include the following in the file:

  • All third party contributors acknowledge that any contributions they provide will be made under the same open source license that the open source project is provided under.
  • Include our standard Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct, preferably a direct link to the templates found on Twilio GitHub orgs.
  • Note: Templates for contributing.md and the Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct can be found here for the GitHub orgs: Twilio primary org; Twilio Labs.
  • Host the code on an official Twilio hosting destination (e.g., a Twilio github organization, a Segment github organization, etc).
  • Do NOT include a third party trademark in repo name, unless expressly approved to do so.
